Import Price Index up in Georgia

The Import Price Index (MPI) increased by 2.2 percent in September 2020 in Georgia compared to September 2019, Trend reports referring to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

As reported, compared to September 2019, the index increased by 3.4 percent.

Compared to September 2019 the prices were 3.4 percent higher for manufactured products, while for products from mining and quarrying a price increase of 3.3 percent was registered. With regard to electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning, the prices were 7.3 percent higher.

The Export Price Index (XPI) increased by 2.2 percent compared to the previous month. There was a 0.7 percent increase in the prices for manufactured products.

Compared to September 2019 the XPI increased by 8.1 percent. In the mentioned period the prices increased for manufactured products by 4.2 percent and for products from mining and quarrying by 34.8 percent.
