Number of Uzbek small businesses created over 9M2020 revealed

The number of operating small enterprises and micro firms in Uzbekistan as of October 1, 2020, amounted to 391,300 units, Trend reports referring to the State Statistic Committee of Uzbekistan.

The largest number of operating small enterprises and micro firms was registered in Tashkent - 82 301 units, or 21 percent of the total number, in the Tashkent region - 38,097 units (9.7 percent) and in the Fergana region - 33,307 units (8.5 percent).

In addition, the largest share of newly created small enterprises and micro firms by type of economic activity falls on trade - 123,466 units (31.6 percent), industry - 79,230 units (20.2 percent), construction - 39,641 units (10.1 percent) and agriculture, forestry and fishery - 38,125 units (9.7 percent).

The number of small enterprises and micro firms created in Uzbekistan for 9M2020 amounted to 70,251 units. The largest number of newly created small enterprises and micro firms falls on Tashkent city - 10,786 units (15.4 percent), Samarkand region - 6,558 units (9.3 percent), and Surkhandarya region - 6,395 units (9.1 percent).

The largest share of newly created small enterprises and micro firms by type of economic activity falls on trade - 25,987 units (37 percent), industry - 14,540 units (20.7 percent), agriculture, forestry, and fisheries – 11,841 units (16.9 percent), and construction - 4,701 units (6.7 percent).

The number of small enterprises and micro firms created in Uzbekistan in the context of districts falls on Andijan - 1,584 units, Samarkand - 1,564 units, and Chilanzar region – 1,408 units.

The number of operating business entities per 1,000 people for 9M2020 reached 15 units. The highest indicator in terms of districts and cities accounts for the Yakkasaray region - 60.8 units, Bektemir region - 57.9 units, and in Mirabad region - 47.4 units.
