BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 27

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

The Georgian government spent 23 billion lari ($7.1 billion) on systematic infrastructure projects after 2012 and will spend at least 20 billion lari ($6.2 billion) during the next 4 years, said Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, Trend reports via Georgian media.

He made the remark in Tsalenjikha town during the speech delivered regarding carrying out the gas supply program.

Gakharia stated that the biggest problem today after roads and gas supply is the provision of drinking water and irrigation systems, which he promised would be solved in the next four years.

According to Gakharia, the money will be spent on construction and rehabilitation of roads, gas, water systems, schools, and kindergartens. He pledged that by 2024, about 2.8 million people will have had a 24-hour water supply.

“All this will be done for our citizens to have their everyday life to that of the European type, and we will have to do this together. Every lari will be used on goals and programs that will reach every person regardless of their living place,” Gakharia said.
