Winter wheat planting completed in Turkmenistan’s Akhal region

Winter wheat planting is completed in Turkmenistan’s Akhal region, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

So, wheat is grown on 22,696 hectares of land, from which it is planned to get 400,000 tons of wheat.

Mainly wheat seeds of the varieties Kalym, Batko, Bagrat, Irishka, Berkarar, Garashsyzlyk and others are grown in the region.

As reported, Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas. Thus, earlier John Deere company delivered more cotton harvesting machines to Turkmenistan.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas will deliver brands special equipment for Turkmenistan.

Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
