The retail sales of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies in Azerbaijan totaled 498.2 million manat ($293 million) from January through September 2020, Trend reports citing a report of the State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, this figure increased by 37.7 percent compared to the same period of 2019. In 2019, the value of sold pharmaceutical products amounted to 362 million manat ($212.9 million).
The share of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies in the total retail turnover reached 1.8 percent.
In the first nine months of 2020, the production of the main types of products in the pharmaceutical industry of Azerbaijan, especially drugs of the antibiotic group, totaled 14,500 manat ($8,529), other drugs – 541,500 manat ($318,529).
