Iran boosts its exports via Kurdistan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 2

The goods exported through the customs of the Kurdistan Province (western Iran) increased by 47 percent in terms of weight and 15 percent in terms of value during the first 7 months of the current Iranian year (March 20-October 21, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Supervisor of the Kurdistan Province Customs Office, Bakhtiar Rahmanipour said, Trend reports referring to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.

Rahmanipour said that about 2 million tons of goods worth $850 million were exported through the customs of Iran's Kurdistan Province within the reporting period.

The official added that of the goods exported from Baneh, Sanandaj, and Bashmaq border checkpoints, 962,000 tons worth $440 million were the province's own goods.

“While 1.06 million tons of goods from other provinces of Iran worth $410 million were exported through the mentioned customs of Kurdistan Province,” he said.

Rahmanipour noted these non-oil products were mainly exported to Iraq, Afghanistan, Russia, Turkey, and Bulgaria.
