Turkmenistan's Dashoguz region collects most part of planned rice harvest

Rice has already been harvested from 6,000 hectares of the allocated 8,100 hectares of land in Turkmenistan’s Dashoguz region, Trend reports with reference to “Turkmenistan: Zolotoy Vek” (Turkmenistan: Golden Age) electronic newsapeper.

According to the plan, 35,000 tons of rice should be collected in the region. Thus, the plan will be implemented soon, the report says.

A specialized equipment, including combines, is used to collect rice, which accelerates the peace of work.

Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas. Previously, John Deere company delivered more cotton harvesting machines to Turkmenistan.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas will deliver brands special equipment for Turkmenistan.

Reportedly, agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
