Uzbekistan’s largest import of wood products falls on Russia

The largest volume of wood and wood products imported to Uzbekistan from January through October 2020 fell on Russia, amounting to $433.7 million, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan imported timber and wood products over the past ten months in the amount of $471.8 million, which is $37.7 million less compared to the same period in 2019.

The volume of wood products exported from China to Uzbekistan for 10M2020 in value terms amounted to $14.6 million.

At the same time the worth of wood exported from Turkey and Italy for the reported period amounted to $3.5 and $2.7, respectively.

In total, Uzbekistan imported timber and wood products from 49 countries in 2020.

Earlier it was reported that the volume of imports of building materials to Uzbekistan in its total volume for 9M2020 amounted to 5.7 percent and reached $852.4 million.

In its structure, the main share is occupied by wood and wood products (48.1 percent), cement (10.2 percent), glass and glassware (5.3 percent), as well as asbestos (2.7 percent).

In general, the volume of imports of building materials for 9M2020 decreased by 15.2 percent compared to 2019.

The largest imports of building materials were recorded for wood and wood products. Imports for these commodity items for 9M2020 amounted to $410 million (a decrease of 11.6 percent).
