More countries allow import of Uzbek-grown products

Uzbekistan received a phytosanitary permit for the export of agricultural products to a number of new countries, Trend reports referring to State Plant Quarantine Inspection in Uzbekistan.

Thus, the markets of the countries of the European Union, Japan, and South Korea were opened for the supply of radish. Uzbek carrots can also be exported to the last two countries.

Agricultural companies from Uzbekistan have the opportunity to export onions to South Korea, the US, and Japan. Markets in China, Japan, India, Myanmar, and Ghana got permission for the export of melons.

In addition, pistachios from Uzbekistan can be supplied to the markets of India, the Philippines, Japan, Bangladesh, Iran, Morocco, Pakistan, and Jordan.

Previously the export to the United States of 10 types of agricultural products, such as beans, mung beans, peas, peanuts, raisins, almonds, walnuts, apricots, and plums, was approved, which, according to the agreements, will be supplied overseas in large volumes.

Earlier it was reported that the export of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan for 9M2020 in value terms amounted to $571.5 million, which is $387.8 million less than in the same period last year ($959.3 million).

According to the State Statistic Committee of Uzbekistan, the Fergana region became the leading region of Uzbekistan in terms of export of agricultural products, exporting agricultural products worth $146.8 million.
