This week, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, the companies "Agroservice" and "Case New Holland Industrial" began trial assembly of new-generation Case combines in the regions of Azerbaijan, Trend reports via the ministry.

Some 320,542 tons of cotton were harvested in Azerbaijan this week.

According to the ministry, the average cotton yield has exceeded 32 centners per hectare.

"This year, Azerbaijan has recorded a record average cotton yield. Although the cotton harvest has not been fully completed, farmers have already harvested 320,542 tons of products in the fields and handed them over to processing centers," the ministry said.

The yield of citrus fruits has increased in Azerbaijan. According to Surkhay Novruzov, head of the fruit growing department of the Ministry of Agriculture, an increase in yield indicators for lemons, oranges and tangerines has been recorded. Feijoa yields also increased.

This year, autumn plowing for grain crops is planned in Azerbaijan on 1.03 million hectares. Of these, 564,793 hectares are irrigated, 472,714 hectares are non-irrigated land. In 2020, autumn plowing will be carried out in 61 districts and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
