The number of hired employees in Azerbaijan's economy increased by 2.7 percent as of November 1, 2020, compared to the same period last year and amounted to 1.69 million people, Trend reports referring to the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
Some 914,900 were employed in the public sector, and 770,400 were employed in the private sector.
"Some 19.5 percent of wage earners from the total volume in the country were involved in education, 18.2 percent in trade, 13.1 percent – industry, 8.2 percent - construction 6.6 percent - health and social security, 4.5 percent - transport, 3.5 percent - agriculture, 3.4 percent - professional, scientific and technical activities, 1.8 percent - financial and insurance activities, and 13.2 percent in other sectors of the economy," says the report.
Last month the number of employees in the country's economy increased by 2.6 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to 1.68 million people, of which 908,000 were employed in the public sector, and 773,600 – in the private sector.
The highest salaries, according to official data, are observed in the mining industry, financial and insurance sectors, scientific and technical activities, information and communications, as well as in the transport and the warehouse sectors.
