Iran's trade turnover with three West Asian countries - Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan decreased during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2020), Trend reports citing Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (TCCIMA).
According to the statistics, the value of Iran's exports to Syria amounted to $80 million over the reporting period. The exports decreased by 19 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
In addition, Iran imported $11.2 million worth of goods from Syria within eight months. This is an increase of 69 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year, the statistics said.
“Iran exported $6 million worth of goods to Lebanon in 8 months. The exports decreased by 67 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
According to the statistics, while during this period, Iran imported $8.8 million worth of goods from Lebanon. The imports decreased by 33 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
At the same time, Iran exported $12.8 million worth of goods to Jordan over the first eight months of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 22 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
“Iran imported $2.9 million worth of goods from Lebanon in 8 months. The imports decreased by 66 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
According to the statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran exported 75 million tons of goods worth $21.5 billion during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2020). Iran's exports decreased by 19 percent in terms of value and 14 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
In addition, Iran imported 21.8 million tons of goods worth $23.1 billion within 8 months of the current Iranian year.
Iran's imports decreased by 18 percent in terms of value and 1 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
