Sales of goods at Iran Mercantile Exchange spike

A total of 2.89 million tons of goods worth 338 trillion rials (about $8.04 billion) were sold at Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) during the 10th month of the current Iranian year (November 21 through January 20, 2020), Trend reports citing IME’s official portal.

This is an increase of 7 percent in terms of value and 5 percent in terms of volume compared to the 9th month of the current Iranian year (October 21 through December 20, 2020).

According to the statistics, 1.7 million tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 169 trillion rials (about $4.02 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of the IME in the 10th month.

"About 603,000 tons of bitumen, 258,000 tons of various polymeric substances, 125,000 tons of chemicals, 6,300 tons of slaps wax, and 503,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 11,800 tons of base oil, 69,700 tons of sulfur, 200 tons of argon, 129,000 tons lube cut products were sold in this section," the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 1.17 million tons of products worth 167 trillion rials (about $3.97 billion) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of the IME over the reporting month.

"Moreover, 1.09 million tons of steel products, 5,160 tons of copper products, 30 tons of precious metal concentrate, 480 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 15,900 tons of aluminum, 800 tons of coke, 2,500 tons of zinc ingots, 40,000 tons of iron ore concentrate, 300 tons of cast iron and 54 kilograms of gold bars were sold in this section within 10th month," the statistics said.

At the same time, 9,510 tons of various products were sold in the sub-market section of the exchange in the 10th month, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 10.5 tons of saffron were sold in the agricultural products section of the Iran Mercantile Exchange.
