In 2021, it is expected to start implementing new Russian-Azerbaijani projects, especially on organizing the assembly of agricultural and road-building equipment in Azerbaijan, Ruslan Mirsayapov, Trade Representative of Russia in Azerbaijan, told Trend.
According to Mirsayapov, the trade mission will focus on the participation of Russian enterprises in projects of socio-economic development of Azerbaijani regions.
“This is facilitated by the very productive interaction of the co-chairs of the Russian-Azerbaijani intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation – Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Aleksey Overchuk and Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev. In accordance with the statement adopted on January 11 in Moscow, a Working Group has been created, which will create a list of the main areas of work, setting rail and road communications as priorities. The joint working group will determine other directions in which expert subgroups will be created,” Mirsayapov said.
He noted that the expert subgroups will present in the near future a list of projects with a justification of the necessary resources and activities for their implementation and approval at the highest level.
The list and schedule for the implementation of measures involving the restoration and construction of new transport infrastructure facilities necessary for the organization, implementation, and security of international transport will include, according to him, the most relevant projects for mutual trade and economic cooperation, Mirsayapov noted.
Mirsayapov added that the result of the close-knit joint work of Russian and Azerbaijani companies, experts, officials will be new facilities quickly and efficiently built in Azerbaijan.
The activities of the trade office are aimed at developing economic ties between Russia and Azerbaijan, promoting Russian export projects, attracting investments and advanced technologies to Russia.
