Iran sees increase in licensing for establishment of enterprise

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 17

The number of licenses issued for the establishment of the enterprises in Iran increased by 38.6 percent during the first 10 months of the current year (March 20, 2020 - January 20, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran.

According to the statistics, the licenses were issued for the establishment of 31,900 enterprises during the reporting period. While in the same period last year, 23,000 enterprises were licensed to be established.

“A total of 5.14 quadrillion rials (about $122 billion) worth of investments are to be made in the establishment of these enterprises within 10 months. The investments increased by 60.8 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 3.19 quadrillion rials (about $76.1 billion) worth of investments were to be made in the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

About 716,000 people are estimated to be employed in Iran with the establishment of these enterprises licensed over the 10 months, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, employment increased by 37.6 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. In general, 520,000 people were estimated to be employed in the same period last Iranian year.
