Iran beats new record on aluminum ingots production

Iran produced about 406,000 tons of aluminum ingots during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through February 18, 2021), which is a new record, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, the aluminum ingots were produced by 4 Iranian companies – Iranian Aluminum Company, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company, South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO), and Iran Alumina Company.

“The aluminum ingots production increased by 63 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, Iran produced about 248,000 tons of aluminum ingots in the same period last Iranian year,” the report said.

Over the 11 months, the Iranian Aluminum Company produced about 170,000 tons of aluminum ingots, Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company – 148,000 tons, South Aluminum Corporation (SALCO) – 63,800 tons, and Iran Alumina Company – 22,800 tons, the report said.

According to the report, moreover, the Iranian Alumina Company produced about 213,000 tons of alumina powder within 11 months. While in the same period last Iranian year, the alumina powder production was 214,000 tons.

“In addition, the company produced 769,000 tons of bauxite over the 11 months, which is an increase of 2 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 752,000 tons of bauxite were produced by the company in the same period last Iranian year,” the report said.
