Several international companies express interest in Georgian FDI Grant

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12

Ten international companies expressed interest in Georgian FDI Grant, Trend reports via Georgian media.

As reported, this is a state program aiming to promote the growth of foreign direct investments and the creation of new jobs in Georgia.

Director of Produce in Georgia agency Mikheil Khidureli said the talks are underway with those companies.

Interests concern business process outsourcing (BPO), electrical products manufacturing, and logistics.

An international company participating in the program is obliged to invest at least 10 million lari ($2.9 million) and create a minimum of 150 jobs.

For companies operating in the field of BPO, the minimum amount of investment is 5 million lari ($1.4 million), with the creation of at least 200 new jobs.

The state program “Produce in Georgia” is being implemented by the initiative of the Government of Georgia The program aims at developing and supporting entrepreneurship, encouraging the creation of new enterprises, and increasing export potential in the country.

Within the framework of this Program, the LEPL National Agency of State Property is in charge of the Physical Infrastructure Transfer Component i.e. free-of-charge transfer of government-owned real property to an entrepreneur under certain investment obligation.
