Kazakhstan increases some ores output

The production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan has amounted to 15.2 million tons from January through March 2021, which is 37.5 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 5.3 million tons in Mar. 2021, which is 33.4 percent more than in Mar. 2020.

Production of copper ores increased by 14.4 percent during the reporting months having amounted to 31.5 million tons (10.7 million tons in Mar. 2021, an increase by 22.2 percent compared to the same month in 2020).

Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 1.6 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates a decrease of 8.4 percent compared to the same period of last year.

The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 575,800 tons in Mar. 2021, which is 15.3 percent less in Mar. 2020.

Production of gold ores amounted to 7.1 million tons over the reporting period, which is 21.7 percent more than during the same period of 2020. The volume of gold ores produced in Mar. 2021 was 2.6 million tons, which is 33.6 percent more than in Mar. 2020.

Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 2.3 million tons, which is 33.1 percent more than during the same period of 2020 (944,100 tons in Mar. 2021, up by 41.1 percent compared to Mar. 2020).

As reported, the production of manganese ores amounted to 254,500 tons, which is 67.8 percent more than during the same period of 2020 (91,900 tons in Mar. 2021, an increase of 2.2 times compared to Mar. 2020).

Production of chrome ores amounted to 1.3 million tons, which is 17.1 percent less than during the same period of 2020 (481,900 tons in Mar. 2021, a decrease of 11.4 percent compared to Mar. 2020).
