Volume of Georgian wine exports and its value up

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 17

The volume of Georgian wine export and its value has increased, Trend reports via the Ministry of Agriculture.

According to the ministry, up to 28.3 million bottles of wine were exported to 55 countries from January through April 2021, which was 15 percent more compared to the same period of 2020.

The value of exported wine increased by 7 percent to $65 million.

According to the ministry, exports to strategic Georgian wine markets have increased:

Poland - 2 percent (1.84 million bottles);
China - 19 percent (1.55 million bottles);
Lithuania - 71 percent (356,748 bottles);
The US - 2 percent (325 468 bottles);
Estonia - 3 percent (228,592 bottles);
Germany - 1 percent (229,527 bottles);
UK - 6 percent (157,932 bottles).

Some 252 companies exported different volumes of Georgian wine and alcoholic beverages.
