New fish-breeding clusters to appear in Uzbekistan's Syrdarya region

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during his visit to the country's Syrdarya region, has announced that 11 fish-breeding clusters will be created in the region, Trend reports referring to the Uzbek media.

“The yield can be increased to 100,000 tons, fish processing can be increased by 1.5 times on 17,000 hectares of water basins. In three districts, 50 hectares of land will be divided among the population as a cooperative. On each acre of land, members of cooperative can breed 3-4 tons of fish on average. Each member of the cooperation will receive an income opportunity of $10,000”, the head of state said.

Moreover, according to Mirziyoyev, water supply will be increased on 74,000 hectares of land, and land reclamation will be improved on 36,000 hectares. In addition, water-saving technologies will be introduced on 111,000 hectares of land.

The president added that reconstruction work was carried out in the Bayaut and Mirzaabad districts. As a result, the water supply on 7,500 hectares of land was improved.

Furthermore, the reclamation level will be improved as a result of the reconstruction of the Shuruzak collector on 12,000 hectares of land.
