Iran boosts exports through customs of Zanjan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 23

Iran’s exports through the customs of the Zanjan Province (western Iran) increased by 130 percent in terms of value and 141 percent in terms of volume, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Director-General of Zanjan Province Customs Office, Mirhashem Ahmadi told ISNA, Trend reports.

According to Ahmadi, 137,000 tons of goods worth $229 million were exported through Zanjan Province customs over the reporting period.

The director general also added that 305,000 tons of goods worth $220 million were imported through the customs of Iran's Zanjan Province, which is increase of 82 percent in terms of value and 121 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last year.

“The imported goods to the province were mainly raw materials and manufacturing equipment. In addition, raw materials that are used to manufacture final products are not exported from the province,” he said.
