The value of Iran's trade turnover with Pakistan will reach $5 billion over the next two years, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Reza Fatemi Amin said, Trend reports citing the ministry.
He made the remark in a meeting of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Trade Committee.
The minister emphasized that the two countries reached an agreement in the first stage of discussions on increasing trade turnover.
“We want the agreement not to be limited to trade between the two countries. Thus, this agreement will result in mutual investments of companies of the two countries,” Fatemi Amin added.
He also said that according to the discussions, economic relations between the private companies of both countries will be formed and two centers will be created to eliminate economic and trade barriers between the two countries.
The minister noted that free trade will be implemented between both countries in the next three months, and Iran is ready to further develop relations with Pakistan.
As reported, the value of Iran's trade turnover with Pakistan amounted to about $654 million during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021).
