In total, 738 trillion rials (about $17.6 billion) worth of investments have been attracted in the industrial and manufacturing sectors into the West Azerbaijan Province (north-western Iran), from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021) to December 16, Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of the West Azerbaijan Province Gholamreza Babaei told IRNA, Trend reports.
The chairman noted that, Iran has attracted investments worth 27.2 trillion rials (about $646 million) for launching 152 industrial enterprises within the mentioned period. As a result, 2,500 people were provided with jobs. These enterprises operate in the food industry and services sector.
“In addition, 711 trillion rials (about $16.9 billion) worth of investments were attracted for the setting up of 1,557 enterprises in the West Azerbaijan Province. With the launch of these enterprises, 34,110 people will be employed,”Babaei added.
There are currently 2,410 manufacturing and industrial enterprises in Iran's West Azerbaijan Province. These enterprises employ 58,265 people.
