BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. The development of entrepreneurship, especially women's, is one of the priorities of the Azerbaijan Microfinance Association (AMFA), Chairman of the Board Jalal Aliyev told Trend on Friday.
"The Association is implementing various projects in this direction and plans to further support the development of small businesses. AMFA intends to provide financial support to small entrepreneurs working in the production sector, including women entrepreneurs with disabilities in its future projects," he said.
According to him, AMFA has signed a number of successful projects funded by international donors - the EU, the UN Development Programme, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank and others.
"We effectively cooperated with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Republic (CBAR), Azerbaijan Agency for the Development of Small and Medium Businesses (SMBDA), the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs during the implementation of the projects. This cooperation gave a great impetus to the implementation of projects to achieve the set goals," Aliyev said.
The AMFA activities cover almost all economic regions of Azerbaijan, he added.
"There are many IDP (internally displaced person) families among the beneficiaries of AMFA. We look forward to the implementation of new projects in the Azerbaijani lands liberated from Armenian occupation. We believe that IDP families returning to their lands will benefit from cooperation with AMFA in various areas," Aliyev said.
