BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. More than 917,000 tons of goods worth over $1.1 billion were exported from the Markazi Province (central Iran), over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), the head of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of the Markazi Province, Ali Jodaki told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Jodaki, the exports from the province increased by 39 percent in value compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).

"The main goods exported from the province were petrochemicals, aluminum ingots, fruit juices, chemicals, various flowers and plants, fittings and etc.," he added.

The official said that the province's goods were mainly exported to Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan and the UAE.

In addition, 129,000 tons of goods worth $446 million were imported to Iran’s Markazi Province over last Iranian year, Jodaki noted.

The official also pointed out that these goods were imported from China, Turkey, the UAE, India and Germany.

"Alumina powder, copper anode, aluminum, cotton, fruit juice packages and so on were main imported goods to the province," he stressed.

There are more than 2,800 manufacturing enterprises operating in Iran's Markazi Province.
