Iran seeks reform to solve trade and production issues

TEHRAN, Iran, June 25. The Iranian government is seeking to solve challenges in production and trade by implementing a structural reform, said Iranian Minister of Industries Mine and Trade Reza Fatemi Amin said at a press conference, Trend reports.

"The imbalance in investment activities is one of the challenges and the ministry's mission is to move toward new mechanisms to use all the capacities and resources," he said.

Fatemi Amin underlined the effect of a high foreign exchange rate on production, indicating that structural reform would change the influence on the market.

He pointed out that structural reform is needed since Iran's inflation rate has been more than 30 percent for five consecutive years, causing economic problems.

He went on to say that the banking system is severely troubled in generating financial resources and liquidity.

"Interaction between banks and producers is one solution but creating chain financing would be more infrastructural and the issue has been addressed by offering 4 trillion rials ($952 million) worth of advances in the last Iran year (started March 21, 2021)," he said.
