BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. The value of Iran's fish feed exports increased by 20 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2022), compared to the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), an official of Iran Fisheries Organization Abbas Mokhtari said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Agriculture Jihad.
The official emphasized that Iran exported about 23,600 tons of fish feed worth $13.4 million in 5 months, while in the last Iranian year, the figure stood at 30,000 tons worth $11.2 million.
According to Mokhtari, in 5 months, Iran mainly exported fish feed to Iraq (16,300 tons).
“For the first time, Iran exported 40 tons of fish feed to Russia in the 6th month of current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2022),” he said.
At present, there is a factory producing fish feed for export operating in Iran. It is planned to increase the number of such factories to 35 in the future, Mokhtari added.
