Iran names volume of wheat, cooking oil imported to country via northern ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. A total of 236,000 tons of wheat and crude cooking oil have been imported to Iran through the country’s northern ports since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022), Director General of Iran’s Government Trading Corporation’s branch in Mazandaran Province, Abbasali Vafayinejad said, Trend reports citing the GTC’s website.

The director general noted that the mentioned products were imported by 50 ships through Iran's Amirabad, Neka, Noshahr and Fereidoonkenar ports.

Vafayinejad added that about 114,000 tons of wheat were imported by 25 ships, and 122,000 tons of crude vegetable oil - by 25 ships.

“Meanwhile, last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), more than 391,000 tons of wheat and 100,000 tons of crude cooking oil were imported into the country by 91 ships through Iran’s northern ports,” he said.
