BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 26. The unemployment rate in Iran among citizens aged 15 and over decreased by 0.7 percent, during the autumn season of the current Iranian year (October 23 through December 21, 2022), compared to the previous season, Trend reports via the data from Statistical Center of Iran.
The number of those unemployed in Iran for the reporting period was about 2.14 million people, which accounted for 8.2 percent of the active society.
The number of unemployed between the ages of 15 and 24 was about 366,000, and while, the number of unemployed between the ages of 18-35 was about 1.2 million.
Meanwhile, the number of unemployed people with higher education in the country amounted to approximately 810,000 for the autumn season, which is an increase of 0.1 percent compared to the previous season.
In total, the number of people aged 15 and over in Iran was about 63.9 million within the mentioned period. Of these, about 37.7 million or 59 percent was considered inactive for economic activities, while 26.2 million or 41 percent - considered active for economic activities.
