BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 7. The manufacturing of various vehicles by Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO) increased by 12 percent, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, Trend reports.
According to the statistics, Iran Khordo Company manufactured a total of 452,232 various vehicles in 10 months.
Meanwhile, the figure stood at 403,607 units in the same period last Iranian year.
Also, the IKCO has manufactured 433,812 passenger cars for the reporting period, which is an increase of 9 percent compared to 398,035 units in the same period last Iranian year.
In addition, the company manufactured 5,421 pick-ups for 10 months. This is an increase of about 10 times compared to 495 units in the same period last Iranian year.
During 10 months, 1,679 vans were manufactured by the company, which is an increase of about 4 times compared to 337 units in the same period last Iranian year.
At the same time, the IKCO manufactured only 1 minibus over the mentioned period, which is a decrease of 99 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 69 buses were manufactured by the company in the same period last Iranian year.
In 10 months, the company produced 558 buses, which is 24 percent more compared to 449 units in the same period last Iranian year.
The Iran Khodro Company also manufactured 10,761 trucks and trailers. This shows an increase of 1.5 times compared to 4,222 units in the same period last Iranian year.
In general, there are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
Meanwhile, a total of 994,156 various vehicles were manufactured in Iran during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through January 20, 2023), which is an increase of 20 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, the figure amounted to 831,576 units in the same period last Iranian year.
Reportedly, Iran's local car manufacturing companies also provide statistics related to production. There may be some differences between the statistics provided by the mentioned companies and the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran.
