BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 2. Iran's export of non-oil products to Syria increased by 11.4 percent in value and 10.6 percent in volume, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), a member of the international and foreign trade committee of the House of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Rouhollah Latifi said on social media, Trend reports.
According to Latifi, Iran exported a total of 147,000 tons of non-oil products worth $243 million to Syria in the last Iranian year.
“Last year, Iran mainly exports agricultural products and foodstuffs worth $40 million, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies worth $33.6 million, steel products worth $15 million, urea worth $9 million, various water taps and faucets worth $2.5 million, as well as industrial and motor oils worth $2 million, auto spare parts worth $1.5 million, detergents worth $1.4 million, etc.,” the official said.
Overall, Iran exported more than 122 million tons of non-oil products worth approximately $53.2 billion over the last Iranian year, which increased by 10 percent in value, while it did not change in volume compared to the preceding year.
Meanwhile, Iran's total non-oil trade turnover amounted to over 159 million tons worth approximately $113 billion. The trade turnover increased by 11.2 percent in value compared to the preceding year.
