BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 3. The passenger car manufacturing of Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO), increased by 64.5 percent for the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports citing the group’s website.
Within the 1st month, the IKCO manufactured a total of 30,686 passenger cars.
Meanwhile, in the same month of the last Iranian year, the company’s production amounted to 18,594.
In total, Iran Khodro Company manufactured 630,736 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-ups, trucks and trailers, vans, buses and minibuses) in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
This is an increase of 37.7 percent compared to 458,785 units in the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
Overall, 1.18 million passenger cars were manufactured in the country for the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 35 percent compared to 874,000 units in the preceding year.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
