BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10. The passenger car manufacturing of Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO), increased by 86 percent from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023) to May 9, 2023, compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the group’s website.
The IKCO manufactured more than 59,000 passenger cars within the mentioned period.
The mentioned increase makes it possible for the company to reach the goal of passenger car production to 900,000 units in the current year (March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024).
Along with increasing the production of passenger cars, Iran Khodro also accelerated the process of delivering cars to customers.
In total, Iran Khodro Company manufactured 630,736 various vehicles (including passenger cars, pick-ups, trucks and trailers, vans, buses and minibuses) in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023).
This is an increase of 37.7 percent compared to 458,785 units in the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
Overall, 1.18 million passenger cars were manufactured in the country for the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 35 percent compared to 874,000 units in the preceding year.
There are three giant car manufacturing companies - Iran Khodro, Saipa, and Pars Khodro, operating in Iran. By implementing various projects, Iran intends to increase manufacturing in the auto industry.
