BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10. Iran exported about 5.72 million tons of non-oil products worth approximately $1.98 billion to neighboring countries, during the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), a member of the international and foreign trade committee of the House of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Rouhollah Latifi said on social media, Trend reports.
According to Latifi, Iran's non-oil exports to neighboring countries for the reporting month increased by 7.4 percent in value compared to the same month in the last Iranian year.
"So, Iran exported non-oil products worth $609 million to Iraq, worth $550 million to Türkiye, worth $320 million to the UAE, worth $116 million to Pakistan, and worth $115 million to Afghanistan in the 1st month," he said.
The official noted that Iran also exported non-oil products worth $89.4 million to Oman, worth $60 million to Russia, worth $33.4 million to Azerbaijan, worth $27 million to Turkmenistan, worth $12.5 million to Kazakhstan, worth $9.3 million to Kuwait, worth $6 million to Qatar, worth $196,000 to Bahrain and worth $32 million to others.
Commenting on Iran's total non-oil trade turnover with neighboring countries for the 1st month, Latifi also pointed out that the trade turnover amounted to about 7 million tons worth $3.49 billion, which is an increase of 11.5 percent in value and 26 percent in volume compared to the same month in the last year.
Overall, Iran exported about 10.5 million tons of non-oil products worth approximately $3.65 billion for the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023).
This is a decrease of 12.9 percent in value, while an increase of 17.7 percent in volume compared to the same month in the last year.
