BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24. Iran imported a total of 4,920 tons of goods worth $13.3 million from Tajikistan, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), Trend reports.
This is an increase of 5.9 percent in volume, while a decrease of 8.3 percent in value compared to the same period in the last Iranian year.
So, Iran's imports from Tajikistan amounted to 4,650 tons worth approximately $14.6 million in the same period of last year.
Over 2 months, Iran mainly imported cotton, silk fabric, various equipment and, etc. from Tajikistan.
Meanwhile, in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023), Iran imported 1,450 tons of goods worth $3.72 million from Tajikistan.
In total, Iran imported 27,800 tons of goods worth approximately $79.6 million from Tajikistan over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), which is an increase of 102 percent in value and 92.1 percent in volume compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
Overall, Iran imported 4.73 million tons of goods worth $7.94 billion within the first 2 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2022), which is a decrease of 4.79 percent in value and 8.7 percent in volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.
