BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 4. About 84 percent of Iran's agricultural and food products export in value and 94 percent in volume accounted for neighboring countries, during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023), a member of the international and foreign trade committee of the House of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Rouhollah Latifi said on social media, Trend reports.
According to him, Iran exported 3.05 million tons of agricultural and food products worth $2 billion in 5 months. Of the mentioned amount, 2.86 million tons worth $1.68 billion were exported to neighboring countries.
Latifi said that Iran exported 1.32 million tons of agricultural and food products worth approximately $730 million to Iraq, which accounted for 37 percent in value and 43 percent in volume of Iran's agricultural and food products export.
“Within 5 months, Iran exported agricultural and food products worth $240 million to the UAE, worth $194 million - to Russia, worth $147 million - to Pakistan, worth $131 million - to Afghanistan, worth $55 million - to Türkiye, worth $36 million - to Turkmenistan, worth $32.5 million - to Azerbaijan, worth $30.5 million - to Qatar, worth $28.3 million - to Oman, worth $20.1 million - to Kazakhstan, worth $16.5 million - to Kuwait, worth $1.9 million - to Bahrain, worth $6,000 - to Saudi Arabia and worth $17.4 million - to other countries,” he said.
Overall, Iran exported 55.9 million tons of non-oil products worth $19.3 billion during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 26.5 percent in value, while a decrease of 8.55 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
