BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. Iran’s non-oil exports from Razavi Khorasan Province, located in the north-east of the country, saw a significant growth in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Razavi Khorasan Province Amir Reza Rajabi said, Trend reports.
The chairman noted that the value and volume of non-oil exports from the province increased by 30 percent and 25 percent respectively, compared to the same period last year.
Rajabi also said that the province exported 1.25 million tons of non-oil products worth $728 million in six months, while the figures for the same period last year were 1 million tons and $561 million.
He added that the main exported goods were saffron, pistachio, polyethylene, polystyrene, iron and steel rods, etc.
According to Rajabi, the main export destinations were Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Pakistan and others.
Iran’s efforts to boost its non-oil exports amid the US sanctions that limit its oil sales. Iran’s non-oil exports include all products except crude oil, mazut, and white oil.
Overall, Iran exported 67.7 million tons of non-oil products worth over $24.1 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year, which shows a 2.62 percent increase in value and a 29 percent decrease in volume compared to the same period last year.
