BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 17. About 112,000 tons of goods worth $33.2 million were imported to Iran’s North Khorasan Province located in the north-east of the country, during the first 6 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of North Khorasan Province Hossein Hajibegloo said, Trend reports.
The official said that this was a 7 percent drop in value, but a 508-percent surge in volume, compared to the same period last year.
Hajibegloo added that most of the imports were bauxite, which made up 97 percent of the volume. The province also imported pipes, catalysts and other products from various countries, such as China, Türkiye, the UAE, Germany and South Korea.
Overall, Iran imported 17.6 million tons of goods worth $30.4 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023). This is an increase of 11.6 percent in value and 6.89 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
