BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 7. Iran's imports from Türkiye increased by 16.2 percent in value and 12.5 percent in volume, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
Over the course of eight months, Iran imported 2.5 million tons of goods worth $4.43 billion from Türkiye, as stated in the data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
In the same period the previous Iranian year, Iran's import from Türkiye stood at about 2.23 million tons worth $3.81 billion.
The main imports items were various types of equipment, food products, raw materials, fabric, etc.
Within the 8th month alone (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran imported 396,000 tons of goods from Türkiye worth approximately $673 million.
Overall, Iran imported 24.7 million tons of goods worth $42.2 billion in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023). This is an increase of 12.3 percent in value and 4.32 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
