BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 11. Non-oil exports from Iran’s northeastern province of Razavi Khorasan Province, increased by 26 percent in value and 29 percent in volume, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same period last year, Supervisor of Razavi Khorasan Province Customs Office Javad Jafari said, Trend reports.

According to him, the province exported 1.8 million tons of non-oil products worth $1.04 billion during the reporting period.

Jafari added that the main export items were saffron, pistachio, petrochemical products, steel and iron products, animal feed and others.

The official also mentioned that the province's products were mainly exported to neighboring countries, including Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and other countries.

Overall, Iran’s non-oil exports reached $32.2 billion in value and more than 90 million tons in volume in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023).

Compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the value of non-oil exports decreased by 1.6 percent, while the volume increased by 27 percent.

Iran’s non-oil exports do not include crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Therefore, Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
