BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 13. Iran’s non-oil exports to Uzbekistan grew by 23 percent in value and 27 percent in volume during the first 8 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

According to data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran exported 319,000 tons of non-oil products worth $216 million to Uzbekistan in 8 months.

In the same period last year, Iran’s non-oil exports to Uzbekistan stood at 251,000 tons, worth about $176 million.

During the 8th month alone (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran exported 39,200 tons of goods worth approximately $27.6 million to Uzbekistan.

The main export items were milk and dairy products, petrochemical products, various types of pipes, glassware, agricultural equipment, etc. during those six months.

Overall, Iran’s non-oil exports reached $32.2 billion in value and more than 90 million tons in volume in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023).

Compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the value of non-oil exports decreased by 1.6 percent, while the volume increased by 27 percent.

Iran’s non-oil exports do not include crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Therefore, Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
