BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 3. Non-oil exports from Iran’s western province of Kermanshah rose by 8 percent in value and 12 percent in volume for the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023), compared to the same period last year, an official of the Kermanshah Province Customs Office Ali Asghar Abbaszadeh said, Trend reports.
The official noted that the province exported $2.26 billion worth of non-oil products, weighing 5.56 million tons in 9 months.
Abbaszadeh also stated that the main export items from the province were fittings and iron products, ceramics, fruits and vegetables, building stones, dairy products, rubber products and so on.
There are 2 border checkpoints and 5 border markets in Kermanshah Province, Iran. The province’s goods are mainly exported to Iraq and other neighboring countries.
Iran’s efforts to boost its non-oil exports amid the US sanctions that limit its oil sales. Iran’s non-oil exports include all products except crude oil, mazut, and white oil.
The latest data from IRICA shows that Iran exported about 102 million tons of non-oil products worth $36.4 billion in the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023). This represents a 0.68 percent drop in value, but a 26.5 percent rise in volume compared to the same period last year.
