BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 20. The non-oil trade turnover between Iran and Tajikistan was around 250,000 tons, valued at $238 million in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023), Trend reports.
However, the two countries’ non-oil trade stood at only 187,000 tons, worth $179 million in the 9 months and 10 days of the previous Iranian year, as stated in the data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
It should be noted that IRICA published the statistics for 9 months and 10 days of last year instead of 9 months.
The main trade items were petrochemical products, steel products, agricultural and food products, cotton, silk fabric, various equipment, etc.
During the 9th month alone (November 22 through December 21, 2023), the non-oil trade turnover amounted to 39,000 tons worth $40.5 million.
The IRICA's latest data shows that Iran's total trade turnover (both oil and non-oil) increased by seven percent in nine months compared to the same period last year and surpassed $112 billion. Iran had a trade surplus of $15.5 billion in the first nine months of the year.
