BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 19. Iran imported 23,700 tons of goods worth approximately $60.7 million from Tajikistan in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), Trend reports.
This is a decrease of 4.26 percent in value and an increase of 6.1 percent in volume compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, as stated in data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
In the same period of the previous Iranian year, Iran's non-oil imports from Tajikistan stood at 22,300 tons, valued at 63.4 million.
The main import items were cotton, silk fabric, various types of equipment, etc.
During the 10th month (December 22, 2023 through January 20, 2024), Iran imported around 4,230 tons of goods worth $10.8 million from Tajikistan.
The IRICA’s latest data shows that Iran's overall imports for 10 months amounted to nearly 32.7 million tons worth $54.3 billion, representing an 11.6 percent increase in value and a 6-percent increase in volume from the same period last Iranian year.
