The aim of these imports was to enhance and renew the cargo transport sector in the country, according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

IRICA also indicates that Iran has bought a total of 24,847 trailer trucks from March 21, 2021 through February 19, 2024.

Meanwhile, in the previous Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Iran imported 10,039 trailer trucks.

Overall, Iran’s imports stood at 32.7 million tons, worth $54.3 billion, in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year, showing an 11.6 percent increase in value and a 6 percent increase in volume compared to the same period last year.

In general, Iran prioritizes the import of essential products for the country and imposes certain limitations on the import of goods that are domestically produced.
