Kazakhstan ratified agreement with Azerbaijan on strategic partnership and allied relations

On June 23, a law On ratification of Agreement on strategic partnership and allied relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan was adopted at the plenary session of deputies of senate, Trend reports.

The agreement aims to create a legal base for the future strengthening of mutual relations basing on the principles of equality, mutual confidence, strategic partnership and allied relations in all spectrums of the cooperation.

The agreement intends the future development of bilateral trade-economic relations, as well as creation of joint enterprises, provision of suitable situation for mutual investments, entrepreneurship activity in the territory of the two countries.

According to the document, the sides accept the necessity to take consolidated steps for the prevention of environmental pollution and coordination of efforts in restoration of ecological preservation of Caspian Sea and interaction in drawing-up and realization of projects in this sphere.

The agreement was made on May 24, 2005 in Baku during the official visit of Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbayev to Azerbaijan.

The law was forwarded to the state head for being signed.
