(Autoinsidernews) - Caught by spy photographer Chris Doane is this nearly production-ready prototype of the Saturn Vue. Based on the Opel Antara that is sold overseas, the barely camouflaged Vue finally reveals its new eagle-head shaped headlamps, and faux skidplate front fascia. Out back, the Vue gets narrow taillamps with round brake lights, as well as a matching faux skidplate look for the rear bumper, reports Trend.

Priddy & Co. reports that the new Vue will be built in Mexico at General Motors' plant in Ramos Arizpe. Power is likely to come from one of three engines, a 2.4L four cylinder and maybe two optional V6s. There are also reports of two Green Line models, an inexpensive model mild hybrid with the 2.4L four cylinder, and full hybrid version with GM's 3.6L V6 and a dual-mode hybrid system jointly developed with DaimlerChrysler, General Motors, and BMW. A Vue Redline is expected later which may come with a 3.6L V6 developing about 300-hp.
