Working Group on Project on Land-Survey Creation in Azerbaijan to Be Built Up till End of 2006

A working group within the project on creation of land-survey in the country is expected to be built up till the end of the year. The group building up is underway now, Arif Garashev, Head of the State Service for Register of Immovable Property told today, Trend reports.

The project is expected to be implemented on funds to be granted by the World Bank (WB). The cost of the project is estimated at $31.8 m. About $7-8 m. out of these funds will be the sharing of the Azerbaijani party. At present, negotiations are underway on this issue.

In order to carry out a preliminary appraisal of the project on creation of land-survey in the country, a WB mission headed be Gavin Adlington, a WB specialist on land administration is expected to visit Baku on October 2-10. The Bank`s experts together with the

Azerbaijani Government will discuss components of the forthcoming project as well.

The beneficiaries of the project are the State Service for Register of Immovable Property within the Cabinet of Ministers, State Land and Cartography Committee, State Property Committee, and the Justice Ministry. IT development to provide the high level of quality in the above-mentioned bodies is envisaged within the project. In addition, a necessity on making up maps on certain areas where the required scale has not been observed and every construction has not been showed.
