Surplus of Azeri State Budget for 9 Months Announced

Over the period of January-September 2006, the factual incomes to the revenue part of the state budget of Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 2683,6 mln (21,1% of GDP), and increase of 84,9% or AZN 1231,9 mln. from the figures of last year, a government source told Trend. The expenditures of the budget increased by 62,8 % (AZN 933,9 mln) and reached AZN 2420,9 (19% of GDP).

Surplus of the budget for 9 months amounted to AZN 262,7 mln (2,1% of GDP).

67% (AZN 1797,3 mln) of the income part of the state budget was ensured at the expense of the Taxes Ministry of Azerbaijan. The forecasts for the tax collections were implemented at 100,7%. The incomes from the customs tariffs and taxes equaled AZN 384,5 mln.

For the reported period, the incomes from the value added taxes (VAT) totaled AZN 554 mln (20,6% of gross revenues), profit tax AZN 422 mln (15,7%), income-tax AZN 220,4 mln (8,2%), excise tax - 127,6 mln (4,8%), taxes for external economical activities AZN 196,6 mln (7,3%).

Over 9 months, AZN 230 mln (9,5%) has been spent fro the state budget on social support and protection of population, education AZN 320,1 mln (13,2%), financing the bodies of the prosecutor's offices, security, law-enforcement, court AZN 162,4 mln (18%), investments to the economy AZN 839,6 mln (34,7%), living-communal expenditures AZN 37,9 mln (30,2%), industry and construction AZN 562,4 mln (5,2 times ), agriculture, forest industry and fishing 100,5 mln (44,2%), payment of salaries, pensions and allowance AZN 733,8 mln (30,3%).
