Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr.N.Kirtskhalia / Brucellosis was detected amongst cattle in the Azerbaijani-populated Kvemo Kartli region of Georgia.
The disease was revealed amongst cattle in the Agalgorsk, Gardaban and Marneul regions of Georgia. Some 30 cattle suffer the disease in Tsereteli village of Marneul region.
The Georgian Veterinary experts will visit the village on 10 July. The owners of the cattle have refused to destroy their livestock.
Consumption of the infected cattle meat can lead to immediate contraction of brucellosis amongst humans.
